(Lysergic Acid Dielthylamide)
Produced from the fungus Ergot in 1938 and during the 1950s and 1960s was used for therapeutic purposes. It is an illegally manufactured hallucinogenic drug - produced in illicit laboratories. Usually appears in the form of a small square of patterned blotting paper but can be found in capsule, liquid or tablet form.
Methods of using
LSD is taken orally.
The effects manifest themselves after 30 minutes and last for up to 3 hours. Consumption of LSD causes perceptual changes especially to sight; sound, illusions, and hallucinations, delusions of a paranoia nature and the pupils become dilated.
The dangers associated with this drug are unpredictable behaviour and flash backs.
